Maricopa County is larger than Massachusetts or New Jersey, and has more people than 21 states. Will a new county for the East Valley make county government more responsive to voters? Will we sacrifice economies of scale? Will the cost of government services go up or down? On March 6, a panel of policymakers and experts met for a luncheon forum to discuss the pros and cons of breaking up Maricopa County.
