The Congress Elementary School District is suing four residents, claiming the parents have no right to seek public records about board meetings, spending reports, and even their own children. The parents say they have every right to see any public documents they wish. Read more here.

Transparency in Government

In 2008, the Goldwater Institute contacted 28 mayors' offices and asked for information about spending during elections years. Each of the offices turned over the requested information, except for Tucson, so the Goldwater Institute filed a lawsuit. Watch how it got resolved in KGUN 9's news report here.
